Frequently asked questions.
Do you offer free consultations?
Yes- I offer free, 20 minute consultations via phone or video and from there you can decide if you’d like to schedule an intake session or not.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 48 hours notice of cancellation. If you cancel in less than 48 hours, you will be charged for the appointment. Typically, I give one freebie to cancel under 48 hours without charge. Also, if I can reschedule you in the same week, I will not charge for the late canceled appointment.
Please note that typically there are not exceptions to the 48 hour rule in emergency or sickness cases outside of the opportunities to not be charged that have already been named in order to protect the viability of my practice.
What modalities do you use in therapy?
While I use a holistic approach in my work with you, I primarily utilize Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) coupled with Internal Family Systems (IFS), which you can learn about here (https://aedpinstitute.org/about-aedp/) and here (ifs-institute.com)
There are so many choices for therapists. What if I choose the wrong one?
The great thing about choosing a therapist is that you can always change your mind and look for a new one and you will have learned what you don’t want in a therapist to better inform your decision next time around. What we need and want in the therapeutic space can also change with our own development and life experience. Trust your instinct, and know if something isn’t working well it can also be a great opportunity to practice repair in rupture by bringing up your concerns with your therapist and what needs to change and see if it is possible to do in that space or if you need to work with a different clinician.
